O jackie, you just dont get it do you! Your desire to slam me down just because it is me that has said something is glaringly obvious to anyone with half a brain! Actually i find it very flattering that you care so much!

Myea, yoyr spit on mate as always. And very observant ... i will never say i would never use the e collar unless it was proved to me that by doing so i had caused ben irrepairable harm. Equally i will never stop arguing my corner because i know i am right! It is staring me in the face right now as i type this! All 45 kilos of him!

So I have a question,, Ben is a yoiungish dog I believe? What do you do when they do ban e collars in this country, ( and I'm convinced they will at some point) Have you tested his recall without the collar on?

Lizzy - of course i have ... for a long period he went without the e collar at all. He had to be kept on the lead for several months because he hurt his leg, so was not wearing it, but his recall within our garden was brilliant, for what thats worth. Sometimes we forget the controller but still let him off, it makes no difference but we still like him to wear it just in case.

You havent answered the question,,, what do you do when he can't wear it " just in case" do you take the risk?? I have a spaniel who's recall is perfect in the garden,,, but put her on a scent and shes 90% at best,, garden with nothing exciting is one thing, out in the big wide world is another,,they're not daft they know the difference

All I'm saying is if my dog had to wear a collar just in case, and it was likely that ,the use of said collar would become illegal,,, I would be testing that its done its job and he doesn't need it now,,, especially if I was determined that he should run free,,,,, unfortunately all the dogs I know that have been "stymed" have reverted back when the collar has been removed
