It never ceases to amaze me; the number of different ways that the nose of our canine friends can be put to good use.
Schiphol Airport, in the Netherlands, have a German Shepherd Dog, and a Belgian Shepherd, both checking flights from certain countries to help prevent the spread of avian flu.
The dogs put their nose to work in order to sniff out all kinds of poultry, alive or dead, as well as feathers and eggs.
According to Dutch customs, 1,626kg of prepared meat, 203kg of raw poultry, and 245 eggs have been sniffed out this year.
Of course, many Dogsey members will tell you how their own dog seems to be able to sniff out meat, no matter where it's hidden!
