Another warning for dog owners

Especially pertinent this Bank Holiday weekend for casual/weekend dog walkers.

The NFU is reminding dog owners and walkers to be vigilant and responsible when out in the countryside this bank holiday weekend.

The call comes in the wake of several fatalities involving walkers being trampled by cows, while incidents of sheep worrying are on the rise with the NFU Mutual reporting more than 200 separate cases last year; an increase of six per cent on the previous year.

The NFU is setting out simple do’s and don’ts for members of the public as part of its successful Love your Countryside campaign, with advice and guidance on how to keep people and livestock safe.

A timely reminder for all walkers.

Did you see the man walking his two dogs, with the lead wrapped around his hand?
The commentator said the dog should be let off lead if the cattle are a threat.
What chance when the lead is wound around your hand like that?

I don't need warning I aim to stay away from cows with or without Dillon.
Gorden pointed out that man on Country file was on a public footpath and came across cows so it may be we cannot always avoid them.
I believe they shouldn't be on public footpaths and if they might stray there the public should be warned.
