Dog falls 120 feet and is found unhurt

A one-year-old dog has fallen 120 feet down a cliff – and survived unscathed. The fall happened when Ben, a collie-cross, was chasing after a deer and tumbled over a cliff at Durlston Bay near Swanage, Dorset. His owner, thinking he'd become lost, mounted a search for him on the cliff top, not realising that Ben was right below, waiting patiently on the rocks.

Six hours later, Ben was spotted on the rocks by the crew of a pleasure trip boat. After alerting the Coastguard, an inshore lifeboat from Swanage picked the dog up from the remote bay and took him back to the lifeboat station. Incredibly, Ben was unhurt, although rather thirsty and hungry.

Thanks to a 'missing dog' sign Ben's owner had posted, the Coastguard was able to reunite the lucky dog and his relieved owner.

My dad saw this in the paper and sent a pic of the article to me, saying it's not just your dog that's daft! It's funny because they're even the same breed mix!!

Glad Ben is okay though, quite miraculous he was unharmed!
