Two dogs have died in a house fire in Greater Manchester believed to have been caused by Christmas decorations.
Fire crews were called to Whalley Avenue, Sale, at about 19:30 GMT.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said the homeowners were safe but the animals could not be saved. Twenty firefighters tackled the blaze at its height.
GMFRS said the cause is not yet known but the investigation will focus on the Christmas tree.
The blaze engulfed the detached property and has left inside "completely devastated", the fire service said. Heat has also damaged neighbouring properties on the cul-de-sac.
