Bailey the twelve-month-old Staffordshire bull terrier was left at Country Boarding Kennels in Hertfordshire by an owner who never returned for him. After five weeks, there were worries that Bailey might face being put to sleep if a new home could not be found for him, but those worries are over because Bailey has a new home.
Although there had been lots of interest in Bailey following an appeal in a local newspaper, none of the families were suitable because they had small children or other dogs.
“We probably had up to 50 calls which is surprising given that Staffordshires are notoriously difficult to rehome,” said kennel owner, Jeremy Burrows, adding that everyone hopes things will now work out for Bailey.
Bailey's new owners are Tracey Bottoms and Gary Morrison, who had been talking about getting a dog when they saw the appeal for Bailey.
“It all came together at the right time,” said Tracey. “Bailey has been as good as gold. He likes laying on the sofa, getting fussed, and going for walks.”
