Three women hurt in attack by dogs

Two men are being questioned by police after three women were injured in a dog attack.

West Mercia Police were called to Bridge Street in Leominster at shortly after 6.30pm yesterday where it is believed two dogs had attacked and injured a women.

The dogs are believed to be a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and a Bullmastiff, a force spokesman said.

Members of the public attempted to assist and police managed to restrain one of the dogs.

A woman was airlifted to hospital following the incident. She is said to have suffered serious injuries but is in a stable condition.

Another two women are believed to have been injured and received medical attention.

The restrained dog, believed to be the Bullmastiff, died at the scene. The other dog was seized by police and taken away.
