Isle of White campaign with dogs as its focus

An initiative to promote the Isle of Wight has dogs as its focus. In a bid to present the area as canine-friendly, a 24-page guide called 'Pawprint', featuring a host of “dog reporters” to give a dog's viewpoint, has been commissioned by the ferry operator Wightlink.

The guide has been described by publicists as “written by Isle of White dogs and their humans to spell out all the things that make the island a great place for dogs to visit on holiday with their families.” It features dogs such as Sherrie, “an accomplished surfer”, Daisy-May, “the dog hotelier” and “experienced biker”, Breez the German Shepherd, who travels in a side-car.

The booklet can be downloaded from the Wightlink website or ordered by post. Its launch will coincide with National Pet Month in April, with Wightlink promoting free travel for dogs on their ferries.
