It definitely sounds to me as though they never wanted their "family member" back in the first place! There is more to this story than meets the eye. I hope Kia finds a new and loving home and that she doesn't end up as another staffie statistic

The dog seems to have bounced around the family quite a bit and it seems the problems have arisen because of a discrepancy on the microchip plus her being overweight.

I think there's a lot more going on than what's been told, but, of course, we only know what we see in the press which is usually both scant and ............

Let`s hope that with the publicity, the poor dog will get a home with people who really do love her.

Thanks for that Lindsay - I've also read the comment left by the rescue in Devon. That explains a few things that weren't given in the newspaper.

I just hope that now Kia will find a really good family to take care of her.

The comments left by the rescue centre in question do tell a very different story to that given in the press and by the family. A graphic indication of never to believe all you read in a newspaper

The rescue's comment to the journalist just sums it all up "to the journalist whom I gave a statement to on Friday r.e. Kia - did the actual facts not make enough of a sob story??"

Totally agree Brierley - there is an old saying, "believe only half of what you see and not of what you hear!"

About the story involving Kia going into a rescue centre.I have kept working dogs and train dogs all my life,i find some people are on a very low income but can afford to keep a dog but when stupid prices are charged to reclaim dog are way over the top.So are vets fees.My terrier got out a while ago was picked up at 6.30am,i went to the kennels at 10am and they wanted 25pounds for such a short stay.Even if that dog was fed witch would have been a dry meal would have cost peanuts.

g was fed

The cost is more like a fine for letting the dog get out or roam then true costs of kenneling.
