Dobermonkey ~ You said "they took the appropriate course of action". Are you being serious or have I misunderstood?
Do you think beating and hanging a dog is "appropriate action?"

Absolutely brutal what they did to that poor dog,may he rest in peace.
Something is baffling me about this though,apart from the fact THREE people were actually involved in it!!
Why could they not have taken the dog to a rescue and handed him over?All they had to say was the truth,they didn't give a toss about him.
Even if he had been aggressive as they claim( and who could blame him if he was?)surely he could have been assessed and put to sleep humanely if that turned out to be the case.

Appropriate course of action ie they took it to the vet to be humanely put to sleep. They said it was a biter and took it to a vet to be put down. Whose to say it wasn't? Maybe they read posts on a web forum you see them all the time 'it could be a child next!' 'Once a biter always a biter' 'can't rehome as it is a biter'. A sad end for any animal and as I said they should be banned for life.
