lovemybull - you are obviously doing what is required to keep your own dog safe (as well as protect other 'critters' from her). That's what people who love their dogs should be doing. Not letting their dogs pay the price for their inability to control them properly.

first thing i did when i moved here was make sure the fencing was dog and stock proof, while the landlord checked that my dogs are under my control. sheep and cattle country.
they are never even outside the door without me.
