Mr Bojangles, a five-month-old crossbreed, was suffering from demodectic mange. The skin condition caused by the Demodex mites, had been left untreated, causing Mr Bojangles to scratch and bite himself to such an extent that the open sores that had developed on his body had become infected. Staff at the shelter in Cambridgeshire where he was being held were considering putting him to sleep.
Mr Bojangles' salvation came in the form of Emma Nicholson of Impawtant Pups Rescue in Burton-on-Trent, Staffs. After being contacted by the shelter in Cambridgeshire, she took Mr Bojangles home with her, began treating his skin and provided him with his very own sets of puppy pyjamas to keep his sores covered!
Described as an affectionate puppy who gets on well with other dogs, Mr Bojangles is now on the road to recovery, although he is likely to need long term treatment. Mrs Nicholson is trying to raise money for the treatment, anyone who would like to donate directly for Bo’s treatment can contact Easipetcare on 01283 510363, referencing the account Mrs Impawtant Pups for Bojangles.
