Are you getting a ruff night's sleep?

Dog-tired? Blame Fido, Tiddles or Polly.

Growing numbers of people are being kept awake at night by their pets, doctors have warned.

The respected Mayo Clinic in the US says that while many people sleep peacefully with their pet curled up beside them, some are left so exhausted that they seek specialist help.

there is no way i would let the dogs sleep on my bed; they are exiled at night to the extension as the barking etc kept me awake.

the cats are allowed on the understanding that they do not climb or walk on me else they get swiflty booted off.

sleep is hard enough!

It's a miracle I get any sleep then, I have 6 dogs, 2 cats, 2 parrots and a cockatiel but we all have our own space and the birds are covered at night so I don't hear a peep out of any of them until I get up and let the dogs out and uncover the birds later in the morning. I won't uncover the birds too early cos they might disturb the neighbours and anyway they need 12 hours kip.

I wouldn't be kept awake by my pooch.... luckily Louis curls up for the night if it starts getting late say 8.30 am he licks my arm til I get up! He is good...it is mainly me who keeps him awake as I'm a bad sleeper... he actually huffs at me !my sister has taken to wearing earplugs because her cavvy snores so loudly

I would far rather Pereg wake me when she needs to go out for a p&p than not. I also rather like the heartbeat at the foot of the bed.

I would, however, appreciate it if she did not move to take over more and more of the bed!

Rocky used to be fine - only getting up to go on the floor when he got too hot or when he needed a pee. Cheetah, now she's a little mare! Gets up half way through the night... to play!
