Guide dog injured in Southampton street attack

A blind woman has been left shaken and afraid to go out after her guide dog was attacked by an unattended dog tied to a railings in Southampton.

Lyn Godwin was walking in Portswood on Thursday when it happened. Passers-by pulled the other dog away.

Her seven-year-old Labrador Vicki was left with minor cuts and bruises but has lost has her confidence to guide Ms Godwin and now needs retraining.

Disgusting isn't it. Again, another case of an irresponsible owner causing distress to others.

It said the dog was tied up but got free? Poor woman and dog but mistakes do happen. Im sure the dogs owner didnt think it was being irresponsible when he/she 'tied' it up.

Sorry, but leaving a dog unattended these days is, in my opinion, irresponsible.

We see it all the time on the main shopping street in town and hear many stories of how many are stolen whilst their owners shop
