it is very very common for the abuser to threaten to harm the pet to keep the partner "under control" and prevent them leaving, it is incredibly difficult to find a place for yourself and your family and sadly most places won't take pets.... Dogstrust have the freedom project where they will foster your dog until you can find somewhere safe and permanent....sadly it is only available in certain areas but a terrific start

I saw that & felt awful & hid under a blanket (that's what I do when I hear of something I can't stand).

Sad that she was so weak that she ended up letting a man beat her dog to death. I couldn't see the video but you'd think using the law to your advantage might prove useful.
