One of my fosters, who was well cared for in his previous home, vomitted a dozen times a day. This is the number one reason he was given up. Anyway, he did fine on raw, only vomiting a couple of times a day. I knew he wouldn't get adopted if he wasn't on kibble, so I got a bag of TOTW and added 1 tablespoon of kefir (fermented milk) to it. He stopped throwing up. I gave his new owner a jar of kefir.

At the time I also gave the other foster dog (poor thing) and my dog kefir. Why not? It is a great supplement. One of my vets recommended giving my ten year old dog an omega fat supplement, but he won't take them. Instead, I do reflexology on him and that seems to work well.

Does anyone give their dogs coconut oil? I use it for myself a lot and Ted likes to lick the spoon
I wondered if it is as good for dogs as it is for us?

Do I take it you never use ANYTHING other than raw food then at ANY time on your dogs?

No herbs, homeopathy, chondroprotectives? Ever?

I don't give supplements either. The food they eat contains all the nutrients they need.

Nick Thompson (my holistic vet) would beg to differ, as do the vets Mark Elliott, Chirstopher Day and Richard Allport to name but a few plus Christine Zink and Lew Olsen but each to his own.
