Small amounts as the occasional training treat probably won't do any harm but as part of your dog's normal diet, then I'd probably say no, because cheese contains a lot of fat. But of course this depends on your dog's age, weight, breed etc.

A kong stuffed with cottage cheese & a bit of ham, grated carrot etc would probably be a nice treat but with fewer calories

Dogs usually love cheese

Be careful though - I used to give Dexter very small bits of cheese as treats when we were out walking and training. It mounted up and before I knew it, my hitherto slim Labrador was looking rather, er, chunky shall we say.

So don't overdo it, but a bit here and there is just fine

Dogs generally love cheese, however cheese does not always agree with them!

Many dogs are lactose intolerant (milk sugar) or have a problem with casein (milk protein) outwith the fat issue.

So be careful, as apart from gaining weight, pancreatitis could be triggerred by too much fat intake.
