The first of my two new toys has arrived - food dehydrator

A food dehydrator.

At this momnet it has potatoes dehydrating to see if they make nice crisps and banana for banana chips.

I will also be experimenting soon with meats as I want to make the new additon home made meaty treats.

Mmm that sounds good, I've never heard of them, didn't know they existed!

Let us know how you get on. You can do allsorts of dried veg crisps, like those yummy parsnip ones you can buy, or carrots, they're delish!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KITCHENSTA...ht_1426wt_1346

Here is the link if anyone is interested and very quick delivery. I searched and searched and came back to this one reasonable price and free delivery.

Make sure if you want to make the beef jerky or other meat treats you will need a dehydrator that states it does this.

Thank you SB I would be interested would it still be available to buy do you know ?

I have finally found a dehydrator that is sold here, but it is a lot more expensive than the ebay one.

http://www.newhorizon.co.il/store_ne...r/category/35/

That is ~£172.64 and I am not sure whether it would be worth it.

But then again that is what I had to pay for the only single induction hob that is available here, whereas Aldi [or was it Lidl?] sometimes had them for sale at not much more than £30 although I think those induction hobs were fairly basic IIRC.

I know, but it is the only place I have found here that has even heard of them! I had the same thing with the induction hob, but I really did need that.

The dehydrator is more of a "want" than a need...

...but it is quite a strong "want" and as I never go out and have not bought any clothes/shoes/etc for myself for years...
