Orchids

I was given a lovely Orchid, wrapped in a plastic sleeve for my Birthday.
Care instructions and virtually non existant.
Can anyone give me any advice please.

After several I have only just learned through googling how to care for orchids.
They do not like to be to wet but do not allow them to dry out. Feed while flowering I feed mine and water with the food about once a month and spray the flowers finely every so often I do mine roughly once a fortnight to 3 weeks.
I have mine on a sunny window ledge but not direct sunlight. Kept it going since valentines day longest I have kept one.

Great thanks Lynn.
What food do you use, is it a special orchid food?

Don't know much about them but have managed to keep one in flower for nearly 2 years. I have watered it thoroughly once a week and let it drain for a couple of hours and fed it about once a month with special orchid feed. I have today just cut off the flowering stems as all the blooms were about to drop and repotted it. Fingers crossed I will get more new shoots. It is on my kitchen table in front of a window but not in direct sun.

Good luck with keeping yours, but I think they are quite forgiving plants.

Yes special orchid feed Nippy.
I think they like the see through pots when you re-pot them.
