I smugly thought that mine would never ever do that only to see him about to cock his leg! I will never take that for granted again and was glad I could stop him in time!
I think that probably is their way, certainly Henry gets a lot of fuss from the staff there, and we buy his food and treats there so he also gets fuss when we are queueing up to pay.

I wonder if it is because there are so many temptations that he gets over excited and then feels the need to cock his leg, or maybe so many dogs have done so beforehand that he feels the need to put his scent down too. I do agree it is embarrassing, it's also like that when he grabs something off the display and everything around it falls to the floor

If it was me, I would email Watchdog and tell them everything you have told us. Including how you have never been told this before and how Customer Services couldn't of cared less when you rang them about it. Negative exposure, they hate.

I think it's a shame more places in the uk don't allow dogs.
We have a mobile home, our dog has her passport and we go over to the continent once or twice a year. Most bars and a lot of shops and restaurants allow dogs in. We've had meals in some quite high class restaurants where including ours there have been several dogs in them. There was no barking and no weeing - however if there had of been I would have expected the owner and dog to be asked to leave - in much the same way that if there was an unruly child I would expect the family to be asked to leave. I don't understand that anybody can say there's an H&S issue with dogs going into most shops, pubs, cafes etc - after all we all prepare, cook and eat food in the same home as our dogs and it's not killing us off.

Some dogs are nuisances, owners are dim and not everybody likes dogs so i'm not in favour of dogs being allowed in business premises, and certainly not if there is food involved.

I personally wouldnt have a problem if I went into a bank and saw a dog in there but if I was the Manager then i'm not sure i'd be advocating it.
Replace the word dogs with the word children and you've got my vote!

Yes, and they were one of the worst for irresponsible lending and dragged Lloyds Bank down into the pooh when Brown & Darling forced them (lloyds TSB) to take over Halifax.

Definately write to them, in this case I would pitch it at regional management as the top brass in Lloyds will only pass the letter down. It's most likely some nerdy regional managers decision anyway.

I went to a friend's house for coffee yesterday and there was a large notice on her door. It was a picture of a border collie and the words All Dogs Welcome Here.
I didn't even have Skye with me as she was out on a long walk with my husband!

Our Town shopping centre doesn't allow dogs anywhere in it, if someone without thinking does this a loud voice comes over the tannoy to tell them 'Dogs are not allowed in this shopping centre except assistance dogs'.
