Cystitis

Haven't had this for years, but it arrived on Friday. Thought it had left again, so didn't bother getting anything for it when I was out today.

Guess what...... it's back......

I forgot how horrible it was too.....

(((Hugs))) I have never suffered but mum use too and it would reduce her to tears. They say cranberry juice is good.

Hoping it goes soon.

Drink loads & loads of water to flush your bladder out, keep a glass beside you & keep drinking, it really does help. I take it periodically. Miserable condition.

Thanks folks.... I did drink loads yesterday and it seems to have eased a bit. However, I intend to batter it into complete submission as soon as I can get my hands on some Cymalon.......

I had it once quite badly five years ago and had to go on antibiotics. If I think I am getting it I immediately down a sachet of cystitis relief from Lloyds chemist - disgusting but very effective.

Bit late now but take a spoonful of bicarbonate of soda in a little water - down it as it takes yuck - then drink a glass of water to flush it down. It genuinely eases the stinging! I kept getting recurring cystitis after an operation (on my sinuses so not related but guess my immune system was low as I got a post-op infection in my nose too) and this was a life saver.
If you drink cranberry juice then make sure it's unsweetened stuff, not from concentrate as that stuff is full of sugar which will just feed teh bacteria. From what I've heard, cranberry juice is better for prevention rather than a cure.

Hey there

I suffer from this loads and it's horrific. The best tip I was ever given was, instead of drinking lots of cold water to drink your water warm. And if you have the medicine that you dissolve (like cystocalm) then dissolve it in warm water. It made a huge difference to me, making it clear up loads faster
