Bens got stiff hips

takes him ages to get up. and he walks stiffly. but once hes up hes not too bad.
he had a right go at a doggy friend tonight, this dog put his paw on bens back(think he was a bit excited) and ben went nuts barking and growling at him. i pulled him away. but this other dog ignored his owner and came back again. i didnt put ben on his lead at this point. he would of been too restricted.
but i was wondering is there any suppliments i can put in his food (like codliver oil)ill be taking him to the vets, but as we havnt got a car ill have to take him by bus (great fun)
hes 6 yrs old.
eats quite happily. and will just sleep alot.

Sorry to hear about Ben, PAH do glucosamine treats that are great for joints, and they contain the green lipped mucsle, the best you can get...1 a day then as he gets better you can do every other day , might be worth a look xx

Yes, that's what I was going to suggest...

My Ben (Great Dane, 6 months old) also takes his time to get up, but I guess it's because his body is so high up

My suggestion was going to be the same as Inliveeva's until I saw how young Ben is..... maybe worth a trip to the vet just to make sure, IMO.

Good luck!

My middle Setter, Rusty, has always been a bit jointy. He is 8 years old now and I've been giving him a Vetzyme High Strength Flexible Joint Supplement every day for a good few years and I swear they do him good.

See link below as they do a joint care programme which is worth a read. I buy 90 tablets for approx. £13 at PAH.

Reah is on Glucosamine Sulphate tablets 2 tablets daily with food for 6 weeks and then 6 weeks off. they were prescribed by the specialist that did her legs. She does have codliver oil and omega 3 too. Maybe your vet will tell you whats best
