How soon after feeding can you excercise?

Daisy`s breakfasts have become more substantial as I`m trying to get weight back on her. She has a half a kilo of lamb `flaps` (part of the Breast) in the morning. She is a very active, skinny GSD of around 30k. How long should I leave it before excercise? She has a 30 min. lead walk then a swim & gallop then training.

I`m asking because I was told off by someone - the woman said 4 hours I thought food went through a dog quite quickly.

I try to feed Dale after his walk. He doesn't seem to mind waiting but otherwise I give it at least an hour.

I generally wait 2 hours both before and after exercise, 1 1/2 at a push but that is rare.

I would say an hour either before or after exercise. Ours get fed at different times, depending on what we and they are doing, but we always leave at least an hour either side.

Four hours sounds like overkill. I leave at least one hour personally.

No 2 hours should be fine. To me that is erring on the side of caution anyway
