The Royal Highland Show 2008

Spent yesterday helping Ian and Arabella at the highland show with there Berrichon De Cher sheep,
they had six with them in total, all were placed there tup took Male champion and overall reserve champion so well done to them,

the weather stayed pretty good a few showers lasting a few min but on the whole sunny and warm

the only real grumble I have is,,
When coming back from the ring with the tup {220kg of testosterone } people had there kids playing up and down the area to get live stock back into there pens,, its a small run way about four foot wide, the kids were on small bikes,, I shouted to lift the kids several times,, to no avail, so arabella and I ended up being rattled off the railings by one very piffed off male tup,, my foots sore, wrist is killing me,,
why are the general public so unaware of the potental danger! can you imagine if it had been the bull

appart from that a great day out,, even though I was knackered after it

anyone eles go?

I bet if it had been the bull you wouldn't have need to say anything - they would have scarpered out the way quick enough.

Apart from the ignorant public, sounds like you had a great day

TBH Im not so sure they would have, its kinda like they think, "oh well they are allowed to bring them here they must be trained" so everything is ok, I will just amble along without a care,
which would be ok if they were not walking around the loading area of the stock,,

You would have to be a bit slow not to see him charging down a narrow passageway towards you,, the worst thing was he was right at the end stall,, a dead end,,
