Todder Tantrums

OMG - where did my sweet-natured baby girl go?

Okay she is still a sweetie - affectionate, intelligent, smiley, laughing, interested ... but what are the tantrums all about??? Yelling, little legs and arms flailing, pretty face going red and scowling??? Then seconds later it's over - and I'm traumatised!

Aww poor you, I think most babies go through that stage. It's just a way of expressing themselves and learning how to push boundaries. It's just a normal part of growing up. It's called the terrible 2's, but I think it should be called the terrible 2's, 3's, 4's, 5's etc, until they get to the terrible teens and thats when the real trouble starts. It's just teaching us harrassed mothers to learn how to cope with all the wonderful things our children throw at us throughout their childhood.

Just remember they can stop them just as suddenly as they start them. i found that ignoring them and just carrying on as normal was the quickest way to end them. No performer likes an empty stage.....

Good luck though. it is a battle of wills.

Abi our eldest was awful for tantrums as a toddler, she would lie on the floor screaming until her face was blood red, legs kicking, tears streaming down her face...............she hasn't changed much now, and she's 20 in December.........lol.

Must say though out of our 4 she was the only one like it. OH said it was my own fault as I spoilt her......not me, never.....

Agree with Fudgeley, just try and walk away from it. I used to find it ended much quicker then.

Oh I am doomed! I told her off and left the room yesterday, just for less than a minute. Then when I returned it was, "arrow Mammy" then she squeezed her nose and went, "Maa Maa".

I melted!
