The CDB

Do all of you give your dog(s) a CDB (cuddling down biscuit) last thing, as they settle down for the night?

First time we ever used a kennel we were going through the dogs' likes and dislikes etc and we said - oh, they'll need a biscuit as they settle down for the night - and the owner said - yes, all the dogs get a biscuit.

So, does everyone do it? Is it a universal dog thing?

Yes, my lot do. The minute they see me locking up and turning out the lights, they all go over to where thier biscuits are kept and sit and wait.

When I saw the CDB heading I thought you were talking about COUNCIL OF DOCKED BREEDS!!..............lol.

I don't really give Archie one in the evening, but when he wakes me up to take him for a wee around 5-6am he is normally pretty hunrgy so I give him one then

I tried giving him one before sleeping one of the first nights, and he fell asleep halfway through eating it, and slept in the crumbs!

Yep we do the biscuit ritual in this house and they know exactly what it means.

When I get up to go to bed mine both leg it to the door to be first up to bed and get the most space

Yup, here too; we use it to reward him for going into his bed on command - athough now, he's in there before the command

Both my dogs get a biscuit before going to bed

Soon as my 3 have been out for their last pee, they all sit in their beds waiting for there biscuit..I have always done it....

Same here, mine all get a biscuit or chew stick last thing before lights out. I think it's a positive way to settle them down for the night and it's something the family have always done with dogs.
