Kitten Question (Should we be worried)

My son collected a kitten last night, after they recently lost thier old cat. he phoned me this evening as he is concerned that despite eating very well the kitten still hasn't done a poo. Its waterworks seem fine though.
Should he be concerned or is it just the change of home? We have never come accross it before.
How long should he leave it to see if it goes before getting it checked. The kitten is 8 weeks old.

Yeah my two didnt go for what seemed like ages either! I did place them in the litter tray several times so they knew where it was and they never had a single accident. x
