Help Needed.

I sadly found out a few dayes ago that my godmother passed away on new years day reongoing medical problems.

I am finding it so hard to put anything down into words, that would help my godfather.

Any help/poems ect for inspiration would be apreciated.

I'm so sorry
A poem that means a lot to me is Stop All the Clocks by W.H. Auden
I don't know if it will be appropriate for your godfather, but I thought I might suggest it.

found these

Godmothers aren't fairies in a tale,
Offering a world that cannot be.
Demand of them glass slippers and they fail,
More likely to do favors naturally.
On them you can depend for a relation:
They offer gifts and guidance with a kiss.
Having taken on the obligation,
Each freely out of love gives what she is.
Real godmothers have no wands or wings,
So they must work with wisdom, love, and things.

I want you to know how lucky I feel
to have had a Godmother like you,
someone who always loved me
no matter what I did.
When I think of you I count my blessings and
thank the Lord above
that I had you for my Godmother because
Godmothers are chosen with love.

Like stars that shine in the heavens,
a godsmother endless love,
lights the way for her godchild,
as the lord gives a nod from above!
She was chosen because of her goodness,
and too, for her gentleside,
But also because her godchild,
could view her with love & with pride....
For she is a perfect example,
of all that a person should be,
a kind and a caring guardian,
standing by for eternity.

dont know if these are any good for you

hugs
xxx

When Mum dies, I attended a rememberance service at the hospice a year later.
Lots of familes attended to remember their loved ones.
We were asked for fav poems etc, and I didn't know what to have read for her so left it up to the priest.
This is what he chose and I think it's very thought provoking.

The Weaver

My Life is but a weaving
between my Lord and me;
I cannot choose the colors
He worketh steadily.

Oft times He weaveth sorrow
And I, in foolish pride,
Forget He sees the upper,
And I the under side.

Not til the loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly,
Shall God unroll the canvas
And explain the reason why.

The dark threads are as needful
In the Weaver's skillful hand,
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern He has planned.

He knows, He loves, He cares,
Nothing this truth can dim.
He gives His very best to those
Who leave the choice with Him.
