Do you refridgerate canned food after opening?

Following on from my recent thread:

http://www.dogsey.com/showthread.php?t=73525

I've just ordered some of the new Burns moist food. Their website advises keeping it no longer than 3 - 4 days maximum (which is no problem because Max is a big guy so will get through it in 2 days). My question is do you refridgerate canned tins after opening them?

I could ask Burns but I have only just though of this now & would like to give Max some tonight so please help!

Max & I will be very grateful!

I would transfer it into an airtight container and bung in the fridge. The can will go funny if left with food in when open.

Yes and don't leave it in the open can either, it will go rancid overnight!

No I never refridgerate as I want to offer tinned food at room temperature, but I do seal the tops over if I am not using it all at once and the max time one is in this condition is 12 hours.

Any tinned food uneaten goes into an airtight container or open dish, never left in the tin

No No No, never put open tin cans in the fridge, it can cause food poisoning, I know because i was a cook and had to do basic food hygiene and intermediary food hygiene, its one of the first things we learned, that and always run cooked rice under cold water if eating it cold, never let it cool down naturally
