Took Skye to the vets this morning......

she had a really high temperature of 104.
He checked the function of her back legs and they are ok, but she may have an infecion in her spinal cord. He's given me some antibiotics and metacam for her to take for the week. She also had a couple of injections. I've got to take her back on Thursday to see how she's doing
She hasn't moved at all really. I'm have to frequently give her drinks on her bed, which is probably good as she's on strict rest until Thursday.
I'm hoping she'll pick up after a few days of meds

Poor Skye, I hope she gets better on the Metacam and whatever else he's given her. Always a worry when they're like this. The temperature is pretty high so it's pointing to something not quite right. Nothing you can do but keep her comfy and keep her fresh water close to hand like you are. Poor little girl, I do hope she perks up again soon.

Thanks... they gave her Noroclav. She's had this before and it worked wonders.
Her life style is going to have to change permanently. No running after tennis balls. Shes going to have to drop that hobbie for good.
I'm going to keep her on the lead for a good while and try to make her potter around the field instead of run

Yes, chasing after that ball and stopping dead plays havoc with their rear end joints! You're very wise!

So sorry to hear about Skye. We're taking Dexter to the vet tomor, he has a poorly paw. May have a thorn embedded, so he may have to stop i so they can investigate. It's awful when, like babies, they can't tell what's wrong, and where it hurts. You feel so helpless. I hope Skye improves quickly..
