Keeping visable on dark nights.

Hi,

Myself and the kids have those reflective straps you can wear for our walks on dark evenings so the traffic can see us. I wanted to get something to keep the dogs visable as well. Sometimes their collars are obscured from view with their coats so I got a pair of these;

They are simply reflective wraps that normally go around a horse's reins. I bought a pair and put one on each of the dogs leads for our late walks. Just wanted to pass the idea on for anyone interested. :smt001

How cool, if it's really dark it will look like you are walking invisible dogs :smt042

I have a reflective collar for my dogs but Jet black shadys doesn't show up as it dissapears under her coat.
I had thought of a flashing one so I can see her down the field, but then being the worry mummy I am I was concerned if it was wet or raining, would she get an electric shock?

I have a flashing collar for Blackie, (I need to get some batteries for it) it works but at times his fur covers it up, it is only really noticable if he turns his head away from you.

We are talking about dog safety, what about our safety? A neighbour of mine has got me a flourescent waistcoat to wear when I'm out in the dark.

This is what we use for Jack, the collar flashes and the ball thing has 4 seperate lights and they flash alternately, the collar does get lost in his fur, but the ball is really quite good and when he goes out of sight all you can see is the red flashing light

I have a hi-vis waistcoat for myself (that I hate) but I still wear it!

Max has a hi-vis waistcoat too - this is him in it last year:

It's really lightweight and just velcros under the belly and on the chest

I got it originally from P@H, think it was about £4
