Our New Pet!! (Blue Crowned Conure)
I've been wanting a bird for ages, went for him (could be her we can't tell!) on Saturday.Blue-Crowns are well known for their talking ability and are usually very affectionate.
He's settling in, just getting used to the surroundings. He is 12weeks old - was hand-reared but hasn't been handled for a couple of weeks as the lady has had two of her dogs whelp at the same time so naturally was a bit short-handed. He loves getting a cuddle and fell asleep with me scratching his head, so he should soon get used to us quickly!
Haven't a name for him yet - love some suggestions!
Marius very curious at first but has settled down, he loves him, keeps trying to lick him through the cage bars! He isn't scared of dogs as the breeder has Tibetan Terriers and a Black Russian Terrier - was in heaven at her house as she had a litter off each dog and they were one and two weeks old respectively - puppy heaven!!!
I adore BRT's but they are sooo big, Sid keeps trying to persuade me to get one!!
Isn't he pretty!

There's an orange tailed Mccaw in our local paper for only £450 at the moment, sale due to ill-health, and that's cheap and I might be tempted to go and see him tomorrow after seeing your little boy. Have fun with him

we have a blue crowned conure called Laura and she is a real funny little bird, although not tame, she lives in the aviary with Mouse and a few others
but she dont talk
just bleets at uscongratulations on your new addition
