HUGE Caterpillar

I found this in my garden just now, it was huge, gave me a bit of a fright I can tell you

Urghh,
some caterpillars are quite pretty, but not sure about that one
mind you its usually the pretty, furry ones that are the nasty ones, so perhaps this one is quite harmless

Thanks, they are big, there are 3 at the top of my garden and every time I got a bit too close they sort of reared up, a bit like a cobra , but not so dramatic, and I've been told they're probably Elephant Hawk Moth Caterpillars

One of my cats brought one of these in last year, Its an Elephant Hawk Moth Caterpillar....Its tucks its head in for protection, and has a long nose very similar to a mouse.....Do not think they are harmful.....I thought it was a snake when I first saw it!

No, Spinach! Not sure what it's feeding on, there's just a few weeds up there, when I took these last pics just now it was devouring a little pink weed flower the flash was working that's why these seem brighter
