Nero and Caesar, the first rotts in scotland to be blood doners

Just back from the vets, Nero and caesar gave blood tonight.
I'm very proud of them, they took in their stride, no probs at all.
It took about 35mins each, first they take a small sample, do a lab check on it, (takes about 12 mins) then they take the donation.
After all is done, they get a small meal, a goodie bag, a toy, and a bandana, as you can see.

The vet said they may be a bit lethargic for an hour or two, lethargic my a**e, they were home in 10 mins and disturbing the peace as usual

If anyone's thinking about joining the scheme, go ahead, the vet and other staff were very appreciative for the donations, and some poor dog that's in dire need of a transfusion will be saved, thanks to my two lovely boys.
The bonus is, if your dog gives blood only once a year, you're getting a blood analylisis done for free.

Well done :smt038

None of my crew are heavy enough either unfortunately but if any of us whose own dogs are`nt eligible ever need a transfusion please know there would be considerable gratitude towards those who do participate :smt058

Well done Nero and Caesar :smt038 I have been thinking about this for Finn as he sits still while getting blood drawn but I don't think he can do it as he is on steroids on and off for allergies.
