Rach and Fudge do agility!!!

I remembered my camera and as the kids school was closed again today I had 2 willing volunteers to take some shots. Credit to the kids for the pics.

We started with a couple of low jumps. One pole and two poles. At this point we still had our dogs on the lead.

She did really well and cleared them with no problems.

We then moved onto the tunnel.

Again no problems. Then we tackled the small A frame. She was up and over straight away.

We then took them on both the low cat walk and the high cat walk. I thought Fudge would hate these but she just walked along no bother with a relaxed lead.We also did a longer tunnel, some weave poles and a long jump.

Next we attempted the medium sized A frame. again she just ran up and over but manged to still get all the contacts.

After this we did some work off lead and did a couple of obstacles joined. fudge managed really well and I was very proud of her.She thoroughly enjoyed herself and did all she was asked with no hesitations. Now she just needs me to be able to keep up with her!! What great fun

Well done Fudge!!! A great start - glad you both enjoyed yourselves! Looks like she has taken to it like a duck to water!

I have to say I find it quite hard keeping up with Max - the whole thing of running and trying to give the commands - and don't ask me about giving directional commands!! LOL!!! I usually get them the wrong way round

P.S. well done remembering the camera

She was grinning ear to ear, most of the 2 hours. She was alittle tired in her obedience class which started half an hour later!!

What a terrific session, I`m so glad you remembered to take a camera

I must say one thing - the tyre in the photo`s - that style of tyre has been banned from KC competition for some time now because its dangerous, so I beg you no matter how much the instructor tells you otherwise or tries to get you to train on it, please, please, refuse point blank to work on that piece of equipment
I was at a competition just before the ban came in to effect and some handlers, [ as the judge refused to change the chain tyre for a proper one ], deliberately guided dogs around it or refused to run in that ring at all, [ I withdrew, no way was I sending my dog through it ! ].

If you go on to compete, you will not see that type of tyre in any KC comps and with unaffiliateds I have only seen one in use, [ two years ago ], not in a competition ring but in a ring set up for the public to have a go under supervision but as soon as the organiser was told of the KC ban they removed it instantly, no messing, no argument, it was taken out there and then.

Now back to Fudge she could seriously shine at agility, she`s bursting with potential, the pics and the vid clips are showing me a dog who was born to do it for all the right reasons, for the joy of doing it, built to do it with ease, oooh, I`d love to get my hands on her [ proverbilly speaking ], for some one to one sessions

Thanks for the info on the tyre Patch. hopw have they changed now? the trainer did talk about having them blocked in? was this what you were talking of?

Thanks also for your really kind comments about Fudge. She really did me proud today. It was a real buzz.
