worried about toby

i discovered a small hard lump on him around 1 week ago just larger than a 50p between his shoulder blades.he doesn't seem to be in pain from it, no redness or change of skin etc like you expect to see with a tumor (the cell changes)
but the other day he grummbled at hol for using his shoulder as a stool, some thing she has always done and he never bothered about.
so i had another look, what ever it is it has grown to the size of the palm on my hand within 1 week to 10 days.
round in shape, hard. it is not so much a lump that outward but a spread across in width.
i have an appointent for bud monday and have got tob in to see the vet at the same time for it to be looked at.
the speed in which it has changed size has scared me, i know fat lumps grow etc but not this fast.
so fingers crossed its nothing nasty.

Has he had a booster injection recently - that can cause nasty lumps. Kath

Might it be a wound that's become infected? Loki had this on his throat and after the vet lanced it we just kept it clean with hot salty water and tcp and it healed up eventually, although it did take a long time. His lump grew from thumb-nail sized to egg-sized overnight so I understand how worried you are.

Fingers crossed for Toby. It could be pressing on a nerve which would make him unhappy about having it pressed.

no jabs although he has started drugs for the other conditions....kinda hoping it is related to that.
no wounds the skin is normal no cuts etc from where an infection could have come from.
the skin is normal just the hard lump underneath as if it is a swelling from inside.
giants are prone to bone cancer and it does make me wonder with the speed of it.
i am hoping they will try and draw a sample on monday so we can see what it is etc.
but if it does turn out to be cancerous i'm not giving up on him radiotherapy , chemo what ever it takes unless it is too much for him to cope with.
