Disgusted!

Hi all,
It has come to my attention, through a friend that a well known person in our breed is breeding from a bitch that is untested.
I know that the Sire to this bitch is a Carrier for L2 and i also know he has used an untested dog at stud
So this mating could produce Affected pups.

Apparently he can't be bothered with all the tests as they are always finding things wrong, and will find something else to test for next week.

I hope he is left with all the pups from this mating.

It is very irresponsible if you know that there is a chance your dog could be a carrier. That's why I refused to use an untested dog for my bitch Ellie who is a carrier. I wasn't prepared to take the chance.
Sadly the vast majority of dogs that are bred are untested and hence these problems will continue to raise their heads when in reality they could be eliminated.

Lets hope he's not, I hope all the pups find responsible loving homes where their owners get them spayed or castrated so they cannot be exploited further by someone who appears to be in breeding for the money!

If I were you I would report this to the breed club involved. Presumably this person is a member of one or other of the breed clubs. Surely that must at least be against the club code of ethics, it certainly would be in my breeds.
