Jumping at the side, How to stop

Skye has taken to jumping at the worktops in the kitchen, now when i see her do this i tell her down and off she gets, but the problem is how do i stop her jumping in the first place as Star never did this and i can remember how i stopped Storm. Touch wood she has not nicked any food yet but i did catch her running round with a bread knife.

When Monster started to do this we simply removed her gently by the collar every time we were close enough without speaking to her as I think sometimes even though we are telling them off we are still giving attention be it negative or positive, we also dog proofed the worktops for a while and never left anything even for a second, eventually she got fed up with getting nothing out of it and hasn't done it for months now
