Jake & Charlies Double Dose....

It was a nice day today, wee bit cold but bright and sunny. Dad said we were gonna go for our walk early coz he wanted to be back to listen to the footy. Off we went, down by the river with our ball chucker thing for some games of fetch.

When we got there, we looked out the car window and saw a dog just like Charlie. He was running around fetching his ball for his mum. Dad seemed to take ages to get his boots on as we jumped around the back, excited about our walk and desperate to go meet a new friend.

Eventually we got out and ran straight over to meet him. He was almost identical to Charlie and his name was Max. We chased him around a bit and had some fun pinching his ball. At one point his Mum chucked the ball and it went in the river. We thought it was funny coz Max was afraid to go in after it. Eventually we took it out and let him play. We did try a few times to get him to come in the water, but he was having none of it.

Soon he left with his Mum and we carried on our walk. Time seemed to go fast though and before long we were in the car and heading home. Was a bit disapointed coz we really wanted to play longer. At home Dad gave us both a treat, a marrow bone from the butcher, then settled down to listen his footy.

We couldn't help but prick up our ears when we heard the man on the radio say that the game was off. Dad didn't seem to pleased but decided rather than laze about he would take us for another walk.

This time he took us to the forest. He said it was just gonna be a short one but as we walked we ended up going right up over the hill and all the way round the long way. It was brilliant. We chased the ball when Dad threw it, we even managed to find it in the trees a few times, Dad was well pleased. And we splashed around in the burn too. We also met some children out for a walk with their Mums, so we got loads of fuss from them. By the time we got back it was starting to get dark. The forest looks so much different in the dark, so we stayed real close to Dad, just incase he got scared ofcourse.

Back home we had dinner and now we are both tired. Charlie tried to jump into the bath with Dad, that was quite funny coz he was covered in bubbles. Nice and relaxed now, ready to sleep and looking forward to our next walk, wherever that will be....
