loo training puppies...

I am just reading a few books, and in one book (how to housebreak your dog in 7 days..) says you can take pup out until its had its injections etc, and that you shouldnt let it go on paper in the house....... so i am confused say pup is 6-8 weeks old for instance, you cant take it out but you cant let it go indoors..... so what do you do?! or am i reading this wrong?!

You can't take pups out into the big wide world before their injections but its ok for them to go in your garden

I wouldnt chance it. You can put paper down in the kitchen or bathroom until the pup is old enough to go out.

You should be having injections at 8 and 10 weeks , well we do here in Wales. Everyone I know puts paper down for a pup, it will confuse the pup further if they are unsure where to do its business !! I put paper down at the back door, its close enough to being out.

I always put training pads down by the back door for georgie of a night time, and he went in the garden during the day.

He is 14wks old now and hasnt done any 'accidents' in the house for about 3-4 weeks now which I think is outstanding. He has stopped going for a wee in the night now too.

I was also concerned about putting paper/pads down in the house.... surely this is only teaching them to do their business in the house???
