Max strikes again!

So, after the Battenburg Incident, we have moved everything off the kitchen side and Max has been really good with his eating of non-edibles (i.e. hasn't eaten any).

Yesterday OH was working from home and when I got back he said that Max had been really good all day and had spent the majority of the day curled up on our bed, and he was still snoozing up there, so I should go and wake him.

(Can you tell where this is going??)

I got up to the bedroom and Max was laying on the bed eating...

A packet of my contraceptive pills!!!

I usually take one in a morning and put them in my bedside drawer.

I obviously hadn't closed the drawer properly, as he had nosed in and got them out.

I'd only had 4 from the packet and there were about 10 on the bed, so he'd eaten the rest of the strip.

I rang the emergency vets (whose number is in my phone now) and asked them what to do. She said not to panic as its a common occurence, and as long as he hadn't eaten the packaging he should be fine, although sometimes a little diahorrea (sp?) or sickness can happen.

And how is the little blighter this morning??

After 2 bowls of breakfast and a run in the rain? Fine

Honestly, he's a walking dustbin. To date he's eaten:

4 carpet tiles
2 net curtains
1 bluetooth headset
1 Battenburg cake
1 packet contraceptives
1 Argos catalogue
Assorted newspapers/junk mail
1 jazz CD

And attempted to eat a pair of topiary shears....

well at least hes ok!!!!!!

im so glad other peoples dogs do things like that too though, when kai was younger she broke into the bathroom while we were out and ate an entire tub of cotton wool buds (you know the ones on sticks) we only found the empty tub and in the confusion i thought my OH had thrown all the buds away and left the tub and he thought i had done the same so we didnt actually realise that she had eaten them untill the next day when they came out, all broken in half!!!!!!!! we were soooooooooo lucky that she hadnt done herself an injury!!!

I hope he suffers no ill effects from them. One thing I have learned from experience is never trust a quiet boxer

Yep - Glazby our walking dustbin of a boxer was the same!!

He's eaten 2 mobile phones
a packet of 12 chicken drumsticks (frozen) bones and all
Packet of Vodka liqueur chocolates
A Cheeseplant (though he obviously didn't like the taste so finished off by just giving it a good prune)
a pair of knickers and various bottle tops
Oooh and tinsle!!

I must say he's a bit more grown up now (nearly 5) and his naughty eating habits haven't happened in a while!!

Saffy was the same at that age. In her past she has eaten:

2 bluetooth headsets
1 mobile phone (all the plastic)
1 Doll (whose head was missing for days)
Tinfoil by the metre.
staples
underwear
But the best was when she swallowed a 6 inch stick whole, we only realised when it came out the other end and was sticking out her rear and we had to get it removed.

Max would eat tinfoil if he had the chance....

I caught him stood on the dishwasher door the other day, trying to climb in and lick the dirty plates!

You'd think we didn't ever feed him
