Accidents will happen.. How long have you had the pup and how old is he/she?

We crate trained Rocky - where he'd be confined to a crate and we let him out every hour and then praise him to bits when he did toilet!
he now sits by the door when he wants to pee or poo (obviously hes not crated anymore!)

Thanks for trying to help Bitsy and Azz

My dog is an Alsation that I got from a rescue centre

I think, from what I've been told, that he's about 5 years old.

The man who had him previously worked long hours and so poor old Fred didn't get much exercise :smt009

Now when I get in from work we're straight out trolling the local dog walks and he's happy as larry

Only trouble is he gets soo excited when I get in he has a little accident :smt090

I think I need some :smt100 :smt047

it sounds as if he is just sooooo happy to see you (if he was left alone alot) i am sure he will calm down soon, there was a springer spaniel at my puppy class who did the same thing when he was nervouse and excited

sorry, thought he was a pup! A crate is like an indoor kennel/cage btw

I think he'll grow out of it - but when he starts peeing say NO and when he pees outside say good pee. Dont b too hard or he'll think everytime u come home u scold him!

Hello Daft Brush
I have a dog that does exactly the same. He's just a wee bit smaller (well, actually, alot smaller).
I find that if i let him stand up against my legs, then he doesn't wee. It's only if he's got all four paws on the deck.
He has a nervous diposition, and gets very over excited too.
How about ignoring him when you first go in the house, and then, letting him out into the garden, and saying hello to him there?

Thank for that Snoopy....

All advice is gratefully received

You didn't say wot breed your dog is :smt009

Can this problem be more prevalent with certain breeds of dog? :smt102 :smt047
