Male Dobe won't leave new girls "bits" alone!!

Hello All,

My new dobe puppy came home yesterday and is proving a total delight the only thing is that my year old male dobe is constantly trying to lick her "bits" and even sort of went into the rutting position.

Should I be concerned?

Any advice on how to stop him or will she just put him in his place when she's a bit bigger?

Thanks
Sue

I think it's an important part of that "getting to know you" routine. (Luckily we shake hands!)

I certainly wouldn't worry about it so early on in the new relationship.

My dobe does it to our terrier bitch -sometimes while shes eating her tea
As she's only a pup she'll smell quite strongly -have she been washed ? we found that helped

Suki goes for her brother's bits - tries to bite them urgh

I think it's just what dogs do! Just wait, won't take her long to get her own back!!! If she's anything like my little lady she'll soon demonstrate how fiesty she can be (I'm convinced that male dobes are much quieter than the girls).

lol I think I would have to agree with you, she was only home a few hours before she stole Zeus' treat and what's more hung on to it dangling mid air before he gave up and let her have it

I'm hoping to get pics up in a couple of days, she's beautiful
