Bubblegum & long haired dog

somehow Jake the Polish Lowland Sheepdog got some pink gooey bubblegum on his muzzle and lip. Any tips on removing it other than cutting? I cut off the biggest part but some is really close to the skin and he won't stay still enough to trim that close

Poor Jake. The only thing I can think of would be ice - if you can keep Jake still it should harden quite quickly and might be easier to remove.

I know my mum used ice on my hair when some horrible boy stuck chewing gum to my hair when I was in Primary 2 and that seemed to work - it was right up against my skull too so couldn't be cut out.

Oh dear, poor Jake first I would try surrounding the gum/hair in a cloth contain crushed ice, this will solidify the gum and it should lift out, failing this use an oily solvent, peanut butter is good for this.

Try Melted Chocolate!
It works a treat - rub it into the gum and it should all crumble & break up xx

I had heard of using ice for removing gum but not Melted Chocolate.

As kids with long hair, we were always blowing bubbles with gum and it popping all over our hair, my mother would always get it out by massaging margarine into it,it always came out.
