Get a bichon frise!

Little dog, no hair shedding (or very little), really loving, not too big and heavy for the kiddy to have cuddles...

All round nice dogs

Add to the list needs constant grooming, likes yapping and peeing in the house!

Only kidding they are nice little pooches really!

Perhaps try a local resuce centre, they have loads of unwanted pooches there. Although it will depend the age of your daughter and also the rescue centres policy on rehoming dogs with kids.

Good luck either way.

Sorry, I don't know much about the breed but I was under the impression that they didn't need as much grooming as most people think. My great aunt had one who was just fantastic, and Takara's best friend is a bichon x

ok - maybe not a bichon!

I agree, a rescue centre would be a good idea, there are of course some dogs that just wouldn't be suitable but with some dogs, the rescue centre is aware of it's history so know if it would be suitable for living with a child. And there are some truly lovely dogs in there!
