Scotney castle

Scotney castle. Built originally in 1300 but a lot was removed later on to build a manor house in the grounds. So that was a half day trip from me. originally had 4 turrets but this is the only remaining one

Looks really interesting was going to suggest it to my friend in Essex but with a 3 hour round trip maybe not.

Do they allow dogs to walk round the grounds?

Would you say it was worth the journey for them?

Yes it is well worth the journey but if I was to go again I would choose to go in May/June when the azaleas and rhododendrons are out I think then it would be truly magnificent. Yes dogs are allow on lead in the grounds and they even provide water outside the tea rooms. There are huge areas to walk round and picnics can be eaten in parts of the gardens
