A three-year-old boy is being treated for facial injuries after being attacked by a dog in East Ayrshire.
The pitbull attacked him in a garden in Kilmarnock at about 20:00 on Tuesday. The boy remains in a stable condition in the town's Crosshouse Hospital.
The dog, which did not belong to the boy's family, has been put down with the owner's consent.
A 25-year-old man has been reported to prosecutors in connection with a breach of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.
