Who's your favourite TV chef?

I've been watching James Martin on telly today. At least he cooks good wholesome tasty food and none of that poncy stuff. To cap it all he's not bad to look at and best of all he's a dog lover!

Who's your fave and why?

Marguerite Pattern or Mary Berry or the goddess who answers to the name Delia Smith all fantastic at various times during my lifetime. Don't have a recent favourite they all became far too showbusy for my tastes.

Oh I like cooking, well as you say I like eating but find there are far too many cookery shows on tv, it's obviously the current fave with the powers that be, it used to be make over programs that drove me up the wall, then house buying progs, can no one have an original idea anymore.

I enjoyed the programmes James Martin made about changing the food in hospitals. He started in Scarborough hospital which is somewhere near to home for him he said. It was amazing the difference in attitude both to change and menu. He has done the same in a few others now, I think that a lot of the kitchen staff in most places were pleased with the outcomes although I haven't seen all the programmes.

Love James Martin, love his soh, everything about him, he reminds me of a friend of ours who could be his double. He recently made a few afternoon programmes where he was touring the uk in his little plane, stopping off to cook in different towns out in the open air, made a great change from the boring normal cooking programmes.

Mary Berry and that baker are my least favourite, far too serious for me.
