Bitch or male??

Im due to get a cavalier king charles spaniel when the lady has bred them i was looking at getting a male and i was talking to a lady about her cav she was walking and she said to me to get a bitch as the cav males shes had were a nightmare and the bitch shes had wasnt. Do you think its just luck of the draw or are the males more hardwork?

I've never had a Cav. but people say this kind of thing about every breed tbh. If I wanted a male then I'd get a male.

All my males have been harder work than the girls in all sorts of ways. Still loved them though may even have loved them more because they were so difficult LOL

My friend has a male cav and he's a little gem

Before I got Frodo, I found my girls were much easier to house train than my boys... but then he came along and showed everyone else up haha!

Pick out the one you fall for, male or female... and remember theres always support and advice here!

I've always found males to be easier. You can get a nice female too, but they can also be a pain in the ass. It's mostly a matter of taste I think. Pick the gender you want, not what someone think you should get.

They can vary so much - boys take longer to mature but you tend to 'get what you see'. Bitches can be much quicker but can be devious little witches! My current bitch is gorgeous, house-trained herself in a couple of weeks, never cried at night and has the sweetest nature - my previous one was a real pain, difficult around other dogs, destroyed anything she could get her teeth around if she couldn't tear up the post through the door, etc., etc...

I think a lot will depend of the parents - can you get to know them and see which appeals to you more?

I'm only slightly biased but I think ALL Cavvies are adorable.

However, I only ever have bitch dogs.

Ive always had male dogs and my brothes have always had females. I did rescue a litter and plan on keeping a female for the first time. I dont know about Cavvies, but I think its just the owners/dogs personality that needs to blend
