dog 'chews'

can anyone reccomend something i can give my dogs to chew? i have had to confiscate rawhides, firstly because they kept choking on them, and also they do fight over them very occassionaly. Pigs ears are out of the question for same reason, i had to pull one out of indies throat the other week as she was choking on it! very scary.
Ive tried those flavoured plastic dog bones... they werent interested for long but did enjoy them.
I dare not try marrow bones as i think there would be a war

Its just, now i have removed the bones, they are destroying everything wooden in the house! They rarely sit and chew toys.
ive tried filled frozen kongs... but.. they either dont last long.. or they arent interested.

so can anyone recommend something thats not going to be of particular high value like a marrow bone but something they will enjoy chewing none the less

bruno loves plastic juice bottles ( although I would point out he doesnt eat them - so if they do like to actually swallo what they chew then this isnt ideal.)

he also will chew on cardboard tubes ( wrapping paper/toilet roll tubes etc)
old cardboard boxes
large branches cut off the tree - a favourite
cuz toy
nylabones
phils hand !!

dani

edited to add - egg cartons and newspapers also good - I have my own little recycling machine in the form of a staffie !! LOL

my two can finally stay in the same room and eat a bone each without any wars - I never thought that would happen

Have you tried carrots? Mine love these to chew on

Have you tried the 'stuff-a-ball' Kong where you place biscuits inside it and in grooves on outside-then squirt the Kong paste inside/outside also???

This keeps Vegas amused for ages and loves the peanut butter flavour Kong paste!

Try looking on www.kongcompany.com for ideas!
